I know we can permission edit time, but does that include delete?

Hey fellow Insiders,We just happily launched our inSided community last week and I was asked by our senior leadership to get a sense of what other insided community metrics looked like over the first 1-2 weeks just so we have something to bench mark ourselves against. Primarily I would be interested to knowing the following, over your first two weeks post launch:Total Page views Page views by visitors vs registered users Total registered members (excluding staff) Number of posts (excluding those made by staff)Happy to share our 1 week metrics in the spirit of transparencyTotal Page views - 4757 Page views by visitors vs registered users - 1860 Registered users vs. 2897 Guest user page views Total registered members (excluding staff) - 48 Number of posts (excluding those made by staff) - 47

Hi there, I am wondering about rank icons - if we were interested in implementing icons of different shapes (a star for example), I believe this would not cause any issue. We have only had circular ranks so far so I wanted to confirm that this would be possible. What can you find in the "Got a question?" category

Hi all, the "Got a question?" category is just the right spot to ask your question! What can I ask questions about? Almost everything. 🙂 It does not matter if you think you found a bug, or if you are having questions about why and how to use certain features of the platform. As soon as it's answered we might move it to a different board, so that other users can find it more easily. Two important tips: Search first: Chances are high that your question has been asked before, or that you might find a good article about it in our knowledge base. If it is likely to be a feature request, then you probably should submit it as an idea in our "Got an idea?" category. Cheers, Julian

Best Practice: Use Labels to call out videos

Here’s something we’ve been doing for the past 6 months that I think is a simple best practice. I don’t have any data to back this up, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. 😎When articles have an embedded video, I use a custom label “Watch” to visually call this out. If an article has the content both written and as video, I’ll use “Watch or Read”Labels show up in various feeds on the community: Main activity feed Search results Feeds within categoriesAs well as on topic cards if you feature them on a landing page. In the absence of a video “content type” (and not sure we need one with embed options), this is a way to give a visual cue to users that content is more dynamic and to entice them to click in. And/or if they learn best through video, they’ll see a visual cue for content that matches their preferred style when searching or scrolling through a feed. Again, it’s mostly theory and I don’t have data to back this up.  But I’m pretty confident in the behavioral hypothesis be

PM's not showing on users Private message page?

I have a user who shows 23 PMs on the drop downbut on his Private Message page, it only shows 2 messages.  (second user name I blocked for privacy)Am I missing something? Is there a way a user can delete messages?

Splitting up categories and moving their badges / merging another

Hi there.We recently merged two old categories with their own badges and split a category into two separate ones. I am wondering if there a way to merge people who have earned two types of badges into 1 new category and if there is a way to split owners of 1 badge into two. Hoping to keep this work not manual and with as much automation as possible. Thanks,Alex

Gamification: complete missions, get points and earn certificate

Hi everybody,we are looking for a way to create missions(quiz-style challenges), where users can complete tasks and get points and certificate immediately. The misssions should be automated - we don't want to spend every week hours of manually adding points to users. Does anyone have a good way of doing this?

Problem with padding, icons etc.

Hi!Looks like an issue on the homepage has occured across multiple communities, one is the padding on the hero-banner: All the way to the right is a 10px gap -which i fixed with:/* Hero padding fix */.homepage-widget-wrapper {  padding: 0px;}But the icons padding, and avatar sized has also been changed:(inspired community)(our community, brand icons) Is this a know issue? It just appeared today ☹️

Can you avoid the Insided editor from unwanted interpretation of special characters?

Hi,In the Insided HTML editor I sometimes want to type sth that Insided considers as special, for exampleUnfortunately the Insided editor converts a letter ‘s’ surrounded by square brackets by <s></s> indicating that text should be striked out. When you save your blog, all the following text in the blog gets a striked-out look!I can sort of see why this is, but my question is: how can you get around it if you DON’T want Insided to do this? I thought I had found the solution by bringing up the tagged version of the blog text and then using special html symbols:Amazingly, this works the FIRST time you re-save you work. But if you happen to have to edit&save for a SECOND time, it’s all wrong again. This is because the first time, Save replaces the “brack” notation by real brackets, and the second time these are replaced by strikeout tags.There are multiple other examples. We use two letters ‘m’ surrounded by colons to show how you can show hours, minutes and seconds in cer

Google playStore UGC policy?

Hi. My site(https://masakor.com) is connected to the PlayStore through a webview. I recently submitted an update, but it was rejected for the following reasons.PolicyProvides an in-app system for reporting objectionable UGC and users, and takes action against that UGC and/or user where appropriate; Provides an in-app system for blocking UGC and users;There are many people suffering from the same problem in Korea, my home country. please tell me what I need to do.

How to hide the Attendees on the event page?

We utilize the ability to create Events on our Community and it's an awesome feature. Since we do have internal and external attendees which may not have registered on the Event page over on our Community, it may look like only a couple dozen people have attended one of our big events; even tough over 100 people have attended.Is there a way I can hide the Attendees list from (a) Event page(s), preferably hiding it of anonymous users and users with a certain role? .Edit; preferably also the hiding this line on the Events overview page in the front-end. I seem to be only able to change the text:

As a moderator, is it possible to create tags that live in one category only and can’t be used elsewhere? Use case: I’d like to create a category dedicated to an event we’re running. I want to create tags like: Session 1; Session2 etc.

What's this "square" popping up everywhere?

Hi there, for a few days our community (and inSpired too) has a square popping up in several areas.Doesn’t bother us too much, but I’m wondering if this is expected behavior, and if we can disable that? Appears in the WYSIWYG text editing box, and also whenever I click on a topic. When I click on a topic on activity feedOur Community Text Box inSpired Text Box

Distorted images when sharing articles to LinkedIn

Hi there,When I share articles from our community on LinkedIn, the preview image of the post looks out of whack. These articles have a header image of 1440x640 as recommended by InSided but that sizing doesn’t seem to translate well once shared to social. I’ve tried resizing within LinkedIn itself/changing the preview image but am unable to do so on my personal account. Has anyone run into this? Any ideas? TY!

Need help with Zap: automatically assign new custom roles based on Gainsight Customer Data

Hi there everyone,Our community is open for anybody to sign up, but we always assign a “customer” custom role to our customers because there is some gated content that only customers can see.Our moderation team spends up to 1h each day manually checking newly registered customers and manually assigning custom roles.To check if somebody is a customer or not, we look on Gainsight  (our customer CRM😎), in order to see if that email address is linked to a customer. Is there any way to automate this with zapier?I envision it like this:Trigger: New member registers on insided Zapier checks if that email can be found on gainsight if it can be found, check if it belongs to a currently active customer if yes → assign custom role “customer” if not → leave blank so we can do our own manual check and assign a role manualy (edge cases)  Any idea on how/if this can be set up?Would really appreciate some help/input here :) 🤗 Thank you in advance!

We have super users who read every post that comes in, and they are asking for an unread topics view. If this is a feature I have been unable to find it!

API: extract User Roles for all users

Hello Team,Today we have a technical question, asked by our BI Analyst. I was gonna forward it to inSided support but I figured it makes more sense to ask on the Community, in case somebody else will have the same need in the future. QuestionSo we are currently trying to extract the ‘Custom Role’ of our users, for all our users.We saw this API (https://api2-us-west-2.insided.com/docs/user/#operation/findBy) but want to avoid having to call this API for all our users. We believe we are currently using this API (https://api2-us-west-2.insided.com/docs/user/) for all user details. Is there any way a Custom Role could be obtained from here, or other APIs we should be looking into  to get a complete details of our users (including custom roles)?  Does anybody have an idea?Thank you so much!
