See what people have been awarded a particular badge

I know I can see the number of people that have been awarded a certain badge, but is there a way in Control to be able to see who those people are? I can’t seem to find anything in the exports either.In this case I’m interested in reaching out to a cohort of people with a particular badge to engage them in some activity.

Ability to edit comments in ideas section

Hi - We have a role with “unlimited editing” as the main use. While it works in the forums, it doesn’t seem to work for comments on ideas. Is this a bug? I would assume if you have unlimited editing, you should be able to edit your comments, no matter where they are posted.

Emails not connected to customer account

On our sign up page we encourage customers to register with their company email, but they sometimes use their personal one.Firstly, does anyone have a “best practice” for dealing with this - asking them to edit their email for their profile, etc?Secondly, I still need to work around the problems this creates...1) they are not connected with their company’s account (from Salesforce integration data). → Is it possible to manually add them to an account? Either from inSided or SF?2) it is harder to identify what kind of customer they are until I know who they work for. (I usually have to look for them in SF or LinkedIn, or even ask colleagues.) →  Is it possible to manually add a moderator note to a user, so I don’t have to identify them again later?Thanks in advance!

inSided notifications

I’d like to make a suggestion for the inSided team to use a different email address for the community system emails and notifications and the support tickets from Zendesk. It’s messy to follow both given the number of messages I’m getting and both are coming from support@insided.comThoughts @Jeanie Lee and @Julian ?

What exactly can a non-admin control in a group?

Hey there, We are looking to creating groups on our Community but have encountered a real blocking point in that you need to be an admin to carry out most of the functionalities. Ideally, we would be able to have employees as owners of specific groups in line with their roles and specialities. How have you overcome this challenge in your communities?What exactly can a non-admin owner of a group do, ie. an employee? If I am correct, they can create articles and questions and engage with the group. Are they able to @mention members? I’m not sure exactly how much they can achieve without holding an admin seat. Thanks in advance for your help with this!

Engagement Dashboard: all customers vs community members only

Is it possible today to have the entire engagement dashboard only calculated % of monthly active customers and customer activity per month amongst community members only?I appreciate the ability to look at our entire customer base, but would prefer the ability to really measure activity amongst those within the community as there isn’t a way to do that today.

Why can't I customize certain pages?

I’ve just started working on my community site and I’m getting frustrated because some pages show the “CONTROL/THEME/CUSTOMIZE” buttons but many of the others… if not most only show “CONTROL/THEME” and don’t have customize (Which means I cannot add widgets or structure the page in any way”

Adding user to group manually as opposed to email invite

Is there a way to add a user to a private group aside from inviting them via email? We have invited a user twice to one of our groups, but he has not received the email. It could be due to it being a school email address and the security being increased.

How does one remove a hyperlink using the WYSIWYG toolbar in inSided?

I can see how to add a link but not how to remove a link. Can someone enlighten me? Or is the only option to delete the linked text completely and retype it?

Question about custom user roles and visibility in parent and child categories

Hey inSiders I believe I know the answer to this but looking for confirmation. Let’s say I have these custom user roles:Apple Orange Banana I have a parent category named: Fruit Now let’s say I want a child category under Fruit, called Apple.In this child category, I only want the custom user role of “Apple” to be able to view this child category. The user roles Orange and Banana should not be able to see it. And this would continue, so under the parent category Fruit, I would have child categories called: Orange, Banana. And I would only want them to be visible to their respective custom user roles. In order to accomplish this, I would need to set up my forum so:  Parent Category: Fruit Child Category: Apple Child Category: Orange Child Category: Banana Apple custom role visible visible No No Orange custom role visible No visible No Banana custom role visible No No visible  Is that correct? Does anyone have a similar set up in their community?

Community Best Practices: Lessons Learned

Last month Meltwater launched it’s first Customer Community and we’ve had a ton of learning already. Would love to hear from some of the industry professionals that have had a community in place for a year or so on what your biggest lessons learned have been in year 1. One of mine that @Kenneth R and I chatted about before our launch is simpler is better (e.g. can you have 2 categories instead of 5), start small then build it out or a tip from @Nishers who only builds programs the community members ask for (I am paraphrasing). Would love to hear from you, TIA for sharing.

Can I use Hubspot instead of Salesforce to pull data into the engagement dashboard?

We don’t use Salesforce within my organisation, so I was hoping there’s a way that we can integrate Hubspot to get use of the engagement dashboard within my community? Is this possible and if so, how can I do this?  Thanks!

Remove 'posted date' from Knowledge base articles

Hi All, I was wondering if it was possible to remove (hide) the date an article was posted from visitors to our Community.We’d only like to do this for the content in our Knowledge base where we’ve got articles that were posted just over 4 years ago, and whilst the content has been updated over the years the article still appears as being posted in 2018. The feedback we’ve received is that some visitors may feel that the content is outdated due to when it was posted. If this is not possible, do you have any suggestions of how to best approach this, without having to re-post the articles and losing the GA data and helpfulness rating?  Thanks,Nikhil

Can I separate visibility and editing in moderator/custom role permissions?

Hi folks! I’m setting up a process for our support team, which operates outside of the community, to access community discussions and respond where necessary. These team members need to be able to respond to posts, mark Best Answers, add private notes to a discussion and retrieve email addresses for users.I’ve tried a couple different ways but each of them have similar drawbacks:Adding the users as Moderators gives them permissions to edit users above and beyond what they need Adding a custom role with access to Forum moderation gives access to almost everything they need, but prevents seeing email addresses of users in Control. Adding the Users permission gives full edit rights over users as above. Also removes the easy Control button that Moderators have to jump directly to a discussion’s Control page.Is there a way of granting read-only access to the information in the Users pane, without edit rights? I want to try and operate decent security hygiene as best as I can. The ideal situ

Who's managed to get Google Analytics 4 set up and working for their community?

Google Analytics 4 have told us: On July 1, 2023, standard Universal Analytics properties will no longer process data. You'll be able to see your Universal Analytics reports for a period of time after July 1, 2023. However, new data will only flow into Google Analytics 4 properties. However I’ve been unable to get it to pull any data. Julian had a similar issue a few months back, @Julian did you hear any updates on this?  Is everything sorted and I’ve just done it wrong on my GA?

Can the new reply indicator be enabled elsewhere?

Hiya!This is probably a strange question, but I find the new reply indicator on inSpired really useful, but it’s not available on the OVO Forum and I can’t seem to find any traces of it on my sleeper accounts on some of the other inSided communities.It shows up as this setting for meAnd shows me when a new reply is on a topic:Is this still being tested, or could it be enabled elsewhere?

Today I Learned: "Last active" column in Team Overview reflects last active in Control

This is exactly what I’d want it to be: showing when they were last active in control, using their seat on the license. I validated this by looking a a few of our team members in the User Overview. It confirmed they’ve been active in the community recently, they just haven’t been using control for moderation in many months.  At least… that’s what it seems to be. Hopefully the Insided team corrects me if I’m wrong.

Phrase for "new topic" error

Hi folks,I’d like to customize the phrase for this error message, but I can’t get to it from my own login. Can someone help me identify the phrase?Users get this message when they try to create a topic before activating their email:Sometimes it gives a banner telling them to activate their account, but sometimes not (I don’t know what triggers it). Ideally, I could add a note to this phrase to encourage users to activate, otherwise I suppose they will get frustrated and abandon the community. Thanks,Jess

Articles: Does the amount of "views" include users who are not logged in?

Same as title.Articles: Does the amount of "views" include users who are not logged in?We want to measure how many of our customers have viewed certain content and we need to take this question into consideration. Also, Can you confirm that if a person views the same page twice, the views get counted again?Thanks!

How to add hidden html to the article?

We would like to add following html code to the each and every article we create:<div data-xxxid="xxxyyy"> </div>I find the source code editor from article editor to add the code but when I add it the editor “cleans” it to the following form:<div> </div>How to do this in a right way?We want to use this code to follow it with Google Analytics. With that code we can track certain author and how many times author´s articles are read.

Regular login when SSO is enabled

I have a question regarding users who leave their orgs and want to maintain their user name and history.We currently have SSO enabled which allows them to login.  If I manually reset their password, can they simply log in as that user bypassing SSO?  Otherwise, we need a way to change his user credentials so he is the same person when he gets a new email address.
