How to update icon in search for Product Update content type?

We began using the Product Updates module and content type last week. Our use case is a bit different, so we’ve used Phrases to change the term “Product Update” to match our brand and UX. When I searched, I noticed that Product Updates come with the rocket ship type icon like in the image below. The default icons for article, conversation, idea, etc work fine … but I’m wondering if it’s possible to change the rocket ship icon. Long term, our team might have interest in updating the the icons for the others as well. Is there an area to do this on the backend or how might we customize this? I didn’t see anything under customization, settings, or configuring Product Updates under platform. Also, how might I find where else these icons display on the platform? I know they show in Create topic and a few other places, but if I wanted to review how the styling works, what places should I look?

Is it possible to hyperlink the badge icon on user profiles?

Hoping my CSS and third-party script pros like @SmartlyGreg can chime in here. My colleague had a great idea: linking a badge icon to something that explains it / shows its meaning. Our use case: We’re doing power user spotlights articles of people in our community. While there’s not a great way to link their unique article (published off community) to their profile, we were thinking we could link the Spotlight badge to either the full collection of spotlights or an article about how to earn the badge / participate in a spotlightThis use case might be useful for linking other badges to articles explaining what they mean or how they earn it.Soo…. is there something in the code/data that could be configured with third-party scripts, CSS, or a combination of the two to link whatever renders that badge icon on user profiles?

Stop a topic from appearing in unanswered questions

Hey everyone! We are making use of the Unanswered Questions page in our community to surface questions for our members to answer.  However, there are some topics we do not wish to populate in that page. Examples include, OP asked something and we replied to get more information. It’s been weeks and OP has not replied back, there is nothing to select as a best answer. OP posted a question with a poll with no replies, so you can not select a best answer. If you close the topic, it just stops members from replying, and it continues to be surfaced in Unanswered Questions. The most effective workaround I’ve found is converting the topic from a question to a conversation. This makes it so the topic no longer appears in Unanswered Questions. Has anyone else encountered this dilemma? How are you solving for it in your moderation plan?

How can I prevent an article from appearing in the Recent feed

Hello!I’m currently building out out Community’s knowledge base, and it’s one of those tasks where all the content needs to go live at the same time (because it all links to each other).The problem with this, though, is that I will absolutely decimate the recently ‘active’ feed with 30-odd articles when I’m ready to go live, which I really want to avoid as it’s disrespectful of the content and questions from actual members that deserve the exposure more than my housekeeping.Is there any way to prevent articles from appearing in the recent feed when published?

Updating idea voters on idea progress

If an idea changes status (eg. from “In-Progress” to “Delivered”), is there a native way for me to update the users who have upvoted this idea?

Badge Configuration: how are answers different from replies

Wish there was a glossary that explained how a “reply” is different from an “answer” — but just to confirm, an “answer” is counted when a user’s comment is marked a “best answer” correct?

Can users share links via private message?

Hi there, Im sending private messages to users in our community with links to topics, but I realised I can’t hyperlink from the front end. This is an extract from my PM.  I know I can add hyperlinks via control as an admin, but that’s way too much work. Can this be done via the front end? and if no, why?

Does anybody has experiences using the knowledge base for other purposes like an event area?

Hey everyone! I'm currently thinking about using the knowledge base for a kind of event arena as we want to intregrate our events better and with more visibility into our community.The idea would be that we could share our different events (User Group Meetings, Marketing Events, Academies, Product Updates, etc.) in the form of posts, highlight them and structure them according to upcoming, previous, follow-up, etc.Has anybody already done that and would share some experiences and best practises with me?

What happens if a user already has a role and you use the Add a Role to a User API?

Based on the API documentation, I’m expecting that it’ll just error out and not cause any issues. Does anyone know for sure that’s the case? My colleagues asked to ensure that it won’t “double up” on the role or cause any issues with the users’ data.

Open the Community to everyone

Hey there! I have a question: can someone share about open communities. Here is the scenario: my community is just for users that have a login in my platform. However, for this quarter, the strategy is to invite more people to join more topics (not related to our product). I want to open the Community, but is there a way to restrict bad actors from joining…maybe trolls or bots? Could we control membership based on some other criteria that are scalable?Thanks!

Edit System Emails with UTM?

It looks like most system emails use snippets to automate the link in the button. A few examples:<a href="{post_url}"<a href="{topic_url}"<a href="{invite_url}"Is it possible to add a UTM on the ends of those automated URLs for tracking purposes in Google Analytics? Typically for a UTM, you just add the details to the end of the URL?If I add, for example, I added this right behind the snippet, will it work? ?utm_source=system_emailend result would be<a href="{invite_url}?utm_source=system_email" and then the rest of the html code for styling the button / linkWould that work?

Users restrictions based on country

As a company we are tracking and blocking specific countries users from downloading and using other company properties.  Can you restrict users some certain countries from signing up on the Insided platform? Can you block people via their IP addresses? How do you circumvent users from selecting another country in the user country pick list when signing up?

Embed Video from Wista

We want to embed some of our videos in our articles. Found the following article but having difficulties:  Currently using Wista for storing our videos. I click on Embed Media, next it ask for the URL. I copy and paste the “Public Link for Sharing” from Wista and get this error message within Insided:   Also, we tried to use the Embed Code that Wista provides. But it displays very small and is not a video. We currently use the Embed code when creating are articles in Zendesk.   Is there another way to embed videos from Wista? Or am i missing something?

How to replace the login page

Hi everyone,Our Community is private and requires login before it can be accessed.It’s a big barrier to entry for us, and one of my major challenges is the drop-off rates we see on the built-in SSO login page. We’ve been able to replace the copy on this page using phrases, but ideally I would like to completely replace this page with a custom design that highlights the benefits of becoming a member.Our current login page looks like this:  I would prefer it to look like this (a custom landing page we made on our website for SEO purposes) Is anything like this possible?

Is there a way to get a normal looking line break after bullets?

Is there a way to make a normal line break after a bullet list? I don’t want the following copy to be so close because it looks incredibly weird. But if I add a space, it’s like adding an image into Microsoft Word because something so inexplicable happens to the spacing and it adds several lines worth of break. It doesn’t seem like much of a pain point, but we use bullets a lot. It looks awful, no matter which route we go. It’s like doing a choose your own adventure book where every ending leads to your inevitable doom. No matter how many times I try to flip to my last page or find a route to victory, I’m stuck with a very sad break.Images attached.Doing the shift+enter trick doesn’t work. I could feel your fingers itching, ready to type this in, feeling the day won. But when I do that, it just shifts it down. It looks weird.I want to see if there’s a solve that I’m missing before submitting product feedback.Before I submit anything, I wanted to ask here if anyone had a solution to thi

Missing Navigation in Mobile

We are working on our the mobile version of our community, but noticed that the navigation bar completely disappears. Has this happened to anyone else? How did you resolve it? We attempted to find a help article but haven’t seen this issue from anyone else.

Can I pre-fill the Create New Topic form?

Hi!I’d love a way to create a URL with parameters that allow me to pre-fill the Description field. That way I could make templates for certain types of topics that someone can then pre-fill with the click of a link.The placeholder text is fine for generic instructions, but I’d love to add actual text to this box via URL parameters: Is that possible?

I added group tags and then just sort of made extra because I was playing around.Now, I have like 10 group tags and 3 groups.How do I delete the excess group tags that I don’t want anymore?
