Hi! How do we remove admins from the leaderboard? We want leaderboard to be solely user focused and admins can sometimes rise to the top given they moderate the community.

Articles function not working

Hi - for some reason, I am unable to create articles. When I go through the process of creating an article and hitting save, no articles are saved and nothing appears in the “articles” section under content.Any ideas on how to remedy?Thanks in advance,Beixi

Content - Your best practices for pruning content

Hi there, We got a bunch of articles/topics who are either not relevant anymore or need to be updated. Most of them have been written 2 years ago, when we launched the Community. I would like to know your feedbacks about that ! 🤔 Should we erase those old topics and re-write them ? PRO's : will show up in our user's feed, will be read as fresh content CON's : we will lose some SEO value Should we keep those old topics and overwrite them ? PRO's : SEO-friendly, we will conserve the comments and views CON's : the date will not be valid Any other good practices to share about pruning content ? Many thanks, Tiou

Custom fields on inSided's community

I wanted to make a suggestion to improve the inSided community. I just updated my profile with my new community URL and noticed that you ask for Gender. I’m always cognizant as a community leader and manager of leaving space for everyone to belong. And while I’m a cis-gendered male, I’m sure not everyone falls into the polar ends of male/female and making that question an either/or could make some folks uncomfortable with little or not options. Maybe it should be removed as a custom field? Maybe it should be updated to fully recognize various options?

Hi there, Is there a way we can remove the “Best answer” status once a reply is marked as best answer?How can I do this if I’d like to change the best answer or if the best answer status is applied to an answer by mistake? Thanks

Is it possible to authenticate with the RSS feed

I’ve looked through the help and I can’t find any information on this. If I access the RSS feed location from a public URL (e.g. not logged into the community) the feed displays all the ‘public’ posts.Is there a way to pass a token as part of the URL which is specifically linked to a user so it it displays the feed that is relevant for that user.For example, if I access the RSS feed whilst logged into the community, the feed shows me all posts relevant to my/a users permissions.There are two reasons for this:To create a frequent email which includes new/updated posts that members can subscribe to To allow members to use the RSS functionality within Outlook/Another RSS aggregator to easily review the new topics from the community and not be inundated with New topic emails from our community

Can’t users simply search on a specific forum alone, without having to see all the search results in the community forums?

Can’t users simply search on a specific forum alone, without having to see all the search results in the community forums? For example in our Community; if I search for a word in a forum (it searches the whole forums) without being specific to the forum the user is at. It’s fine but isn’t there a place where users can simply search the forum alone? Thanks & Best Regards,Yasas

Do I have to explicitly list a trusted domain for API calls?

I have some consultants at Lotus Themes setting up federated search on our Zendesk platform. They are trying to access our Staging site via API but are seeing an error. This is what they sent:We've started to work with the Insided API and it looks like they don't allow cross-domain requests. Probably, there is a setting in your Insided account where you can add domain names allowed to perform requests to API. Could you please check this?I have been using the API on Postman and Zapier but have not had to do anything like this. Can someone let me know if this is required? If so, where can I update this setting?Note: They are using the Staging site for testing purposes because our content has not yet been migrated to the Production site.

User profile fields - how to configure default values?

Why can’t users’ search community using tags that they want to have rather than what is shown by insided?

Why can’t users’ search in our community using tags that they want to have rather than what is shown by insided?For example the tag I want to use for my search is not available; so it would have been great if there was a field to search for the tag if it’s not already shown by default. SO NEED TO HAVE THE OPTION TO SEARCH VIA THE TAG THAT A USER WANTS.Thanks & Best Regards,Yasas​​​​​​​

What happens when a users email address changes?

Here’s the scenario I want to get some advice on.When someone signs up for the community they signup with a username and email address. The email address for example might be a personal email or a business email address. In some cases they may lose access to that email address (change of email or change of company).In that case we’d be sending all their notifications to an old email. My questions:How do they know they need to change this email address? If notifications fail to send to an email, do we get any reporting of such? (so we could then identify people we need to get updated email addresses for) How do people handle email address changes?

"Show more" button gone on activity streams?

On the Recently active topics page and the Active since last visit page there used to be a “show more” button at the end of the activity streams to load more topics when you have reached the bottom of the list. It looks like the button is gone now. Our power users are often using these streams and are now complaining that they can only see the newest 25 topics which (because our community is quite an active one) means they can only see what happened in the past 30 to 60 minutes.Did inSided change anything here?Edit 02.03. 12.20h:I have to correct myself. Apparently on these pages there wasn’t a “show more” button, but a pager (like on the Unanswered questions page), which is now missing.

Control over Create New Topic page

Hi again!When on the Create new topic page, how can we make the Product Area not an option but a mandatory field? I couldn’t see a page on Control that gives me control on what shows up on the Create new topic space -- is it behind something else? Thanks!

How do I change the spoiler text?

How do I change the default spoiler text? If it’s a phrase, could someone please share the Module and Key with me? Ours looks like this, but I noticed on this inSpired community, “Show content” has been changed to “Learn more!” I’d like to do the same. Thanks!

How does the related topics widget work?

The related topics widget performs an automatic search on content on your community. These things are being taken into account for the search: It takes the title of the topic, and compares it (by query similarity and matching words) to the title and the first post of all existing topics. The best matches are the topics which have the most words in common. The higher the order is of a certain related topic the more relevant it is to the Topic (order of relevance is from top to bottom).

Does inSided have any integration with GitLab?

Our developer community currently uses GitLab to share solutions and integrations with one another, and we are looking for a way to integrate activity with inSided. This includes things like federated search, cross-posting updates, and gamification based on activity in GitLab. Is there anything that current exists?

'Show first post' - how does this mechanic work?

Here is the example of how the original post is minimized when on the second+ page of comments:  However, some members in this tread are reporting that they don’t get that option, and that the original post always shows. This is not ideal when it’s a long post with images that need resizing etc.  Why do I get this option and others don’t? How does it work?

Email Activation for Sandbox Demo Users with Fake Email Addresses

I am testing out the Salesforce integration in our sandbox environments. In order to do so, I need to add fake community members and have them do actions like posts, replies, ask questions, etc. to test if the data and activity is pushed into our Salesforce sandbox.  I’ve created a handful of dummy community users with fake email addresses, but they’re all stuck in Email Activation stage and don’t have privileges to post replies and do some other functions I need to test out. Is there a way to manually approve or bypass email activation from Control?  In trying to get around this, I also created a dummy user with my email and +1 at the end (e.g. johnsmith+1@gmail.com) to see if I’d actually get an email to activate, and I never received one.  I’m wondering how to go about this - any help would be appreciated!
