Zapier Tip: Use Text Ends With for Filtering Updated Topic Moderator Tags

If you’re building a Zapier automation using the “Updated Topic Moderator Tags” trigger, you are likely filtering those moderator tags in a subsequent step. A lesson I’ve learned in using Moderator Tags frequently (both for custom reporting and automation purposes) is to be intentional with how you filter the text of those moderator tags. Almost always, new moderator tags are appended to the end of existing moderator tags. I have found that when you want to trigger an action based on moderator tags, it is best to use the filter for for (Text) Ends With) and to avoid using (Text) Contains. If you use contains, then you will sometimes accidentally trigger that automation when you’re adding another moderator tag for a different use case. Here’s a specific example: I use 3 different tags (nude0, nudge1, nudge2) to automate replies on topics when I want to “nudge” the author to provide an update or mark the answer (typically this happens a week after no activity, which is after the system e

How to change the color of the Create an Idea button only?

I think this possible based on @leo-inspired’s first comment here…I’d like to change the background color for the Create an Idea button that comes via the ‘Create an Idea’ widget available when you customize the Ideation module landing page. The button uses default button styles (makes sense), but the color palette of that landing page would make it ideal for us to customize the color of just this button. Is this possible? If so, how? (i tried poking around with CSS, but couldn’t figure it out)

Two Client Types in one Community

Hello everyone,We are currently facing a challenge, any advice or suggestions would be highly valuable to us. We serve two types of clients: accountants and their clients, who are SMEs. Presently, we have an online community specifically designed for accountants. However, we have noticed a growing number of SMEs visiting the accountant community and posting their questions there, even though the content available does not cater to their needs.To address this issue, we would like to create a dedicated space or separated forum for our SME clients. Unfortunately, all the data collected will be mixed together, which could make it challenging to manage effectively. I was wondering if any of you, are in a similar situation with two distinct client types in your online communities. REST API to fetch the permissions and roles assigned to Category

Tried to retrieve information regarding the permissions and roles associated with a category using a REST API. However, the API is not providing any details on this matter. Is there an alternative approach or another REST API available that can be used to obtain this information? I am seeking a solution to gather the permissions and roles associated with a category via a REST API.

Is there anything in detail on configuring federated search using the API?

I’ve looked around (but maybe I am looking in the wrong places) to find something which does into detail about federated search. I have used the API docs and have managed to post a small batch of records. This seems to have have worked (I got the 201 HTTP response). However, after 10-20 minutes I am still not able to see the content in my search results. I am presuming that the indexing has not been completed, but for 2 docs it seems a pretty long time. There appears to be nowhere where this information can be found. Every time I search on here for “Federated Search” I end up seeing people talking about it in such a high level that it is not of great use to me when trying to identify why I may not be able to find this content. Can someone point me in the right direction of some docs that go into detail here or possibly give me an idea as to why I am not seeing the data. Also, is there anywhere in the application where I can see how many documents that Insided has indexed and maybe even

Subcommunity/Subforum possible (NOT as part of groups)?

Hello,A previous platform provider we used allowed for “sub communities” or sub forums to be created in additional languages. Example: User would click a drop down and select that they want the Japanese community. Google research and back end poking around doesn’t really definitively answer this for me. To be clear, I am not looking to create a sub forum within groups or categories, but a separate community altogether in another language that mirrors the English community. Any intel would be appreciated. Thanks!

Embeddable within Guide Index

When clicking on an embeddable article guide index hyperlink, the user is sent back to their site, not to the top of the article or the section within the article. Are there any workarounds for this?

User accounts (same Email address) authenticating via 2 different SSO options

Hi - A quick question around how the Insided platform would handle below scenario specifically around user accounts:Context: We need to create 2 SSO login options/buttons (SAML2 for our customers and Open ID for our employees) on the login page of our private community and the associated backend SSO integrations. We will NOT pass username in the SSO profile data (only id, email and custom roles)  as we want our users to create a username when they login first time.Scenario: Employee1 (with email employee1@test.com) logs in via Open ID sets a username, etc and interact with community. And then during their second or future visit they login using SAML2. Questions: Given that the email is still the same employee1@test.com what will the user experience be when they login using SAML2 (will they be allowed to login or will it reject due to duplicate email) If the user (Employee1) is allowed to login via SAML2 will the insided platfrom create 2 separate accounts with same username or will the

Disable or Hide Terms & Conditions

Hello - A quick question related to ability to Disable or Hide Terms & Conditions Context: We will be using SSO and would like for users to set ‘username’ upon first login. On this registration page we would like to disable the terms and conditions as our T & C will be handled on a seperate portal  Question:Is it possible to disable the terms and conditions seen on the SSO registration page https://my-community.insided.com/ssoproxy/setUsernameForm If its not possible can you give me some pointers on hiding it using Phrases and custom CSS?

how to regain users awaiting email confirmation

Hi Folks,I’m trying to figure out what to do about users who start registration but never confirm their email. I’m not sure exactly what is happening, but in my imagination it’s like this:user tries to register (presumably to post something). the confirmation message gets stuck in a spam folder. they are annoyed they can’t post the thing. time goes by, the urgency passes, they don’t try to engage again.I’m considering an email campaign to try and grab them back, but I can’t figure out a way to automate it and don’t want to repeat it every week or two. (Seems like any less frequently wouldn’t do much good.)Wondering if anyone has dealt with this another way?

Lots of "Users Awaiting E-mail Confirmation" lately -> How do I make sure that Activation Mails are being sent out?

Hi there Community or DH Team,it seems like 50% of the users that signed up in the last two weeks still have the primary role “Users Awaiting E-mail Confirmation”. Before that, the ratio was about 10% of our user Base.Is it just us or is anyone facing the same problem? Could that be a technical issue that the emails are not being sent out? Or are they increasingly being recognized as Spam?  Bonus Question: Since we already had quite a few users that did not verify their email address for whatever reason, I think that’s quite a pity. I would like to bring this interesting discussion back to life:

Updating Contacts with Salesforce Integration

If an email address on an existing Community user record gets updated, will it sync to the matching email address in Salesforce? Here’s what I want to happen: From: User123 with email ABC matched to Salesforce Contact with email ABCAction taken: Update email for User123 to email XYZTo: User123 with email XYZ matched with the new Salesforce contact with email XYZ. Does this happen automatically or are there steps that need to be taken to re-sync or re-match the user?

Community KPI: First reply

 Hi everyone and especially @Ditte 😊I’ve listened to the webinar from last week (actually twice already 😍) and was interested in hearing a bit more about your KPI’s. We’re also a mature community and have similar KPI’s (peer-to-peer and marked answers).I’m especially interested in the “First reply within 12 hours”. I was wondering, is you KPI based on the Average response time that can be found from the Content dashboard?Have you followed or have you considerd following the percentage of how many topics get their response withing 12 hours? This is something I find rather interesting, but haven’t really figured out how to track this 🤔Do other community managers have an opinion on this, do you guys track the first reply time?Thanks in advance for your answers 💥 And btw @Ditte  85% peer-to-peer answer rate is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Hello, our community members are seeing an invisible link at the top of the website (the dark grey area), which is a link to the homepage. Some of them sees a small box as below. Was this supposed to be a button with a label on it? Can this be fixed?

Hi all!In our user base, it’s not uncommon for people to change domains, or companies and want to retain their history, etc.We used to be able to edit the OpenID string, but that no longer seems to work.Any ideas on how I can merge the old Id into the new one?

How to set up Zapier to send Slack notifications for activities in private group?

I have a private group on inSided (Gainsight Digital Hub). What I would like to accomplish is setting up a Slack channel for notifications for when a new topic, new reply, and new join request happen in this inSided private group. Has anyone done this? I’m a Zapier newbie so detailed instructions are needed and SO appreciated.

Centered text in community posts

Hello team 👋🏼 I’ve noticed that the text in all posts in our community is now centered, as opposed to left aligned. Is this a bug or an intentional system wide change? I noticed the change a few hours ago but yesterday, everything looked normal. Wondering if anyone else’s community also has centered text on their posts?

Major changes to Category structure - Any advice?

I’m planning to dramatically re-organize my category structure for our Community and Knowledge Base modules. Any advice from those who have done something like this previously? What don’t I know? What should I plan for? One initial challenge is...It seems that I can’t move a child category from one parent category to another, so that means I’ll need toMake the new child category Move the existing content to the new category delete the old category Figure out how to redirect the old links for the previous child category Delete the previous child categoryNot ideal. I’m not sure #4 and #5 are both possible. Broken links (if i delete the category) might not be able to be redirected, even with a third party script…

Badge notification emails

Hi, Under badge settings, it’s possible to choose for a notification to be sent either by private message, or by (email) notification. Is it possible for users to turn off badge notification settings? I can’t see this option under profile settings? Thanks!

Icons not displaying correctly

I am not familiar with those browsers, but one of our superusers reported that icons of Like / Best answer / Quote are missing? Because of this you might press Best answer accidentally.Have you seen this? I think community should work with all browsers.
