Where can I host my private custom page that is only visible by certain roles?

If a custom page (whose visibility is restricted to certain roles) has been created, where could we show this on our community, so it’s only visible for the certain roles.For some extra context, we have created a custom page for a VIP type role for our customers, they gain access to this page through SSO and ideally when they log in, we want them to see a tab/button/link/anything to this custom page - but it must only be visible to them and not other roles.Initially we thought the Mega Menu would be ideal for this but it seems that if you add something to the Mega Menu it’s viewable for everyone.Here’s what we’re aiming for:Regular user/Not logged in: Users visit your community but can't see the special VIP tab. VIP user when logged in: VIP users log in and then see a new tab  in the Mega Menu (or anywhere else) called "VIP space" that others can't see.It doesn't have to be the Mega Menu, it can be somewhere else, just as long as it’s only viewable by the VIP role. I’d really appreciat

Private category for segments

Segmenting users is a great, and powerful tool. But it seems we can’t do anything with that segment once created for private groups or categories. Is there a way we can have a private category, with only certain approved users in there? For example, we may want to onboard a new customer, and have those staff access the category. Other than adding each individual new user in (which is an admin nightmare) how can we do it more cleverly please?

If a user is deleted, deactivated, or removed from Admin team, are API keys deactivated?

I think the answer is no, but I need to confirm. Previous colleagues created some API keys for integrations into various business systems (ex. Snowflake, Tableau, etc). They have not logged-in as an Admin in Control for 3+ years. We’ve kept them active as a seat on our team because we thought they needed access for those integrations. But it turns out the ETL pipelines are just using the API keys created by that user. Will deleting, deactivating, and/or removing from the Admin team impact the API keys created?

Copy and pasting styles in community topics and replys

I have a user that I know (he confirmed) is using chatgpt to answer questions on our community. I’m working on our guidelines for acceptable use, etc, but in the interim I’ve asked him to stop. However, i can tell from the clear variance in replies that he authors and those that chatgpt authors, especially when chatpgt adds bold emphasis and code emphasis in neatly formed replies. But here’s where I’m stuck.When I copy/paste from chatpgt, slack, or other places with code formatting, it doesn’t paste in that style. I didn’t even know that code was an option here until today:you can highlight text and change the style to codeI know that ctrl+b / cmd+b works as a keyboard shortcut for bold. Does anyone know one for code? I’ve also asked in a reply here : Or do you know of any ways to paste formatted text on the front end where the formatted text comes through? Before I finalize my guidelines and processes for monitoring for use; I want to ensure I fully understand how it’s working.

Could anyone point me to the release notes or information about the notification feed visible on communities.gainsight.com? It’s the new button with a bell icon on the top right of the page.

Can you add "past events" after the fact?

Can I add an event today Oct 30 with a date of July 31 so it shows up in the Past Events tab? I’ve done that but can seem to get it to show in the list.  It’s a Group Event and I am a member of the group (and Admin of the entire account) Is it a timing thing? Thanks in advance again everyone!

Embed YouTube Video in an Event (to view past events)

Is it possible to Embed YouTube Videos in an Event Description?  For past events, I’l like to make them available to watch the recording.  When I go the <> code area and paste the embed code, then click out, it’s removed and nothing changes.  Please and thank you in advance!Jamie

Using SCORM in CE and Milestones

I have seen some info on milestones in the community, but I do like how the Gainsight University has their courses setup: the learner cannot end/complete the course until they have clicked through all sections of the SCORM course. I wanted to know if anyone has the steps on how to mimic this in CE?I don’t have a quiz in all of my courses and when adding a milestone for SCORM, it says the learner must complete the SCORM activity with a minimum score %. Any help would be appreciated, even from the GS Uni team on how they accomplished this would be great.

Real time sync from SFDC to Gainsight Timeline

Is there a way to sync timeline activities in real time from SF to Gainsight? We use Chorus and have a nearly realtime sync from Chorus to SFDC. However, those same events only sync 1x per day from SFDC to Gainsight, which is a pretty major inconvenience for our CSM team. Any obvious solutions or workarounds that I’m missing? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Notification Center - Reply Notification Clarification

It’s nice to try out the beta of the Notification Center here on the Gainsight Community. It seems that the rules for the NC solves for this issue (links and context below), showing a notification for each reply on a topic, regardless of the email notification settings / preferences. Can someone from Gainsight please validate this? Improved Email NotificationsWe’ve introduced a new option in the notification settings that lets you choose to receive an email for every reply to a topic. Previously, only one reply notification was sent until you viewed the topic again, which caused some replies to go unnoticed. With this update, you and your users can stay on top of all discussions. Leveraging SSO to automatically assign custom roles

We use SSO in a way so that our users sign up for our community using their existing product logins. We’d like to automatically assign a custom role to certain users as they sign up for community, based on specific criteria they meet on our product side. Long story short, we’d like to create exclusive community spaces/content for specific subsets of our users. Does anyone have experience in this?

Single link for creating account and accessing restricted content

We’re created a custom page that is exclusive to a custom user role. And we’re using SSO to automatically provision the custom role to specific users as they join our community 👍Is there any way to generate a link or URL that will:Prompt someone to create a community account Then navigate them to the custom page, which they’ll then have access to (because their credentials match our criteria to have the custom role assigned).The only way I’ve been able to get close is to customize our 403 error page, but it’s still not the best UX. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Integrating Product Updates from SFDC

Has anyone utilized the native SFDC x Community integration to pull in product updates from SFDC? We’re planning to utilize the native Product Updates module, and our product management team wants to ensure that they’re not having to make manual updates on multiple surfaces.If we have roadmap items stored in SFDC, is it possible to automatically create posts for each item with the content populated?

End users changing username?

Sorry if I’ve missed an obvious answer to this, but is there any reason why end users can’t change their usernames? Seems the only way to do so is for a community manager to do it for them in the control environment. Is that correct?

Need to generate a URL to a Timeline Activity

Hi all,I am pushing to a Slack channel when a Timeline Activity of a certain type is created. I would like to include a URL for the user to click through back into Gainsight and the Timeline Activity. I can’t see any information on how to generate this URL. (For example, as a Salesforce Admin, it’s easy to create a Salesforce link by adding the record ID to the end of a standard Salesforce address)Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can do this? I am currently querying Timeline through the Rules Engine, and pushing to an External Action to get it into Slack.Thanks!

Easier way to deactivate Objective Playbooks with Success Plan Template?

Curious if there was an easier way to deactivate an Objective Playbook that is used in a Success Plan Template. For example, after the Success Plan Template was made inactive - the Objective Playbook still was unable to be deactivated until the Objective was deleted from the Success Plan Template. It would be easier if the Objective Playbook could check that the Success Plan Template was inactive - and allow the admin to deactivate the Objective Playbook if the Success Plan Template was deactivated.

KC Bot - checklist step-by-step

We are working on implementing our first KC bot for implementation. With the checklist, is it possible to prevent them from moving on to the next step if they have not completed the first step?  For example, we need to them to go through and set everything up in the first step before they can do anything in the second step.

Mega menu is not hiding pages based on role / permission?

We have ideas restricted to our employees and partners currently (set by custom role). It seems like a bug that the Ideas link appears in the top navigation for everyone - even when you aren’t signed in. Our Knowledgebase is also restricted and you don’t see it when you aren’t signed in. Is this a bug? Shouldn’t ideas only appear in the header nav if you have access to it?

Adding link on footer

Hi, I have seen several threads about editing the phrases in the footer/ hiding them, but I’m hoping someone can advise on how to ADD a third link. In addition to “Terms and Conditions” and “Cookie Settings”, I’d like a third URL to point to an external page where our Privacy Policy lives within our corporate website.

Dynamic JO logic flow (avoiding null email failures and dropped participants)

@keith_mattes suggested publicizing this, so here goes:I’m building out a new dynamic JO program with three different variants after the evaluate step… one to send a “logic failure notification” in the “else if” branch. Because… ain’t nobody got time for dropped participants. Even on internal-only programs.Also because of the new case expression issue with no custom mapping (string to email) available. The evaluate step is essentially:no null account reps, send and CC account team at least one null rep, send to our team to forward logic fails, send to our team to forwardCurious if anyone else has ways they deal with dropped participants (without manually checking).
