I just wanted to share this with the community. When you export a report from Gainsight, Excel doesn't recognize dates properly, meaning they don't get sorted properly. You can force Excel to see the cell as a date if you click into the cell and hit enter, but what if you have thousands of rows? Luckily, there's an easy way to fix this problem: 1) Highlight the column you want to fix 2) Click the 'Text To Columns' button on the Data Ribbon (see screenshot Here ) 3) Select Delimited option, then click Next 4) Make sure no checkboxes are selected, then click Next 5) Select the Date option for Column data format, then click finish Viola, your selected cells are now seen as dates by Excel! Hope that tip saves some time for you guys.
NULLs show up on line graphs and area charts as value 0. This can be confusing to end users. It would be great to instead of showing 0 for NULL values to not display a data point for NULLs. Current NULL handling drops lines to 0Proposing something more like this
While creating the Activity Type there is no option of adding a “link” as a field so we’re forced to use a text field instead. It would be helpful for all our users to have a clickable link instead of a text in a field.
I see that whitespace is a recurring topic among admins but I was unable to find a specific post for this.To see a full name in a DD dataset, 9/10 times you have to hover over the field name, the names are truncated with ellipses despite the available space.Definitely the use of space could be improved, even moving the group by to the right and decreasing the spacing among columns would make a big difference.
The “Fields” section when in Explore mode of Data Designer is not expandable, nor are you able to hover over your fields to see the full name. If I have fields with long names, this means I’m adding them to the “Show Me” just so I know which one I ultimately want (then I remove the ones I don’t). For example, maybe I have PURCHASING_ACCOUNT_ID and PURCHASING_ACCOUNT_NAME fields. I don’t know which one is the ID field and which one is the NAME field unless I add them to Show Me and then see the column header in the report.
The Calendar widget in Gainsight Home is great, however can we have this so we can make it a wider view? To ttretch it to extend across the screen. We have CSMs with a vertical monitor setup (niche I know) but its the only widget locked to the width size.
I had a user ask me where some fields disappeared to because the scrollbar on Horizon reports in C360 is not visible until the user is actually in the process of scrolling. It is not clear that there are additional columns on the right.
As we’ve started using Success Plans more and more we’ve found navigating to/from them to involve more clicks than we would like. Since most of our CSMs live in their Cockpit and manage success plan objectives from there, I’d love to see a link in the CTA detail view so they could navigate directly to the success plan for that particular objective instead of first to the C360/R360 page>Success Plan>select success plan from the drop down menu (if there are multiple). Ideally I’d love to see it in the top of the CALL TO ACTION tab (just under the Account and Relationship links), but could also make due if when we add the Success Plan Name field to the custom layout configuration for Objective CTAs that it would become a link.
If we need to take something offline, we often request images of meters etc so we can see whats going on to help fix an issue for a customer. We cannot currently attach images or pictures to PM's so would be helpful if we could do this. Darran
Hi Community! We’re just in the process of implementing real-time sync and with our implementation, I have got a few asks that I want to share to be evaluated by the product team. Decouple RTS and Scheduled filtersRealistically, we may want RTS to only apply to certain records that may not be the same exact logic as scheduled fields. In my case, I want the scheduled sync to create contacts (those that don’t exist in GS / don’t have a GSID), but I do NOT want RTS to consider calls for all contacts (so I’d like to have a filter that prevents it from considering contacts that do not have a GSID in SFDC). To prevent RTS from considering updates to all contacts, I have to revert to creating new contacts with a rule, and limiting the sync job to scheduled updates (RTS and scheduled) to implement the filters that I need, if I want to limit the waste on the API call front. Set conditions on update events to be consideredI know that this is a SFDC limitation, but maybe it can be explored in partnership with them: we should be able to apply a filter on the update events that we want to capture (down to the field level). There’s no point for anyone wasting calls on fields that aren’t part of RTS.Allow RTS filters on lookup fieldsCurrently, it’s not possible to enable RTS filters on derived mapping (lookup fields), which is forcing us to write some information that lives in the lookup object in the mapped object so we are able to filter on these values. I’m thinking about Account Type - I don’t want to sync updates on contacts whose account type is NOT customer. Can’t do that for RTS - only for scheduled, which leads to more API call wastage. I know not everything is in your hands and it depends on Salesforce, but I’m quite hopeful that at least decoupling RTS and Scheduled filters should be doable and it would make a difference. Thanks!
In the V1 editor, it is possible to add steps from other templates. However, in the V2 editor, the only options are to add steps from the current template or from the default template (created by Gainsight).Adding steps from other templates would allow team members to:Use content from both an existing V1 engagement and also from our new V2 template in the same engagement Leverage steps and CSS from replaced templates (will not be an issue when editing templates is an option)
My teams is starting to use the V2 editor for guides. However, the V2 editor is not yet available for other types of engagements. Although in-app editing is not applicable for other engagement types, we would like Gainsight PX to use the same V2 editor for other engagement types.RationaleNavigation within the editors is very different, and it is hard to remember what to do when switching editors. For example, in sliders, you go to a different place to move between steps. And in all engagements, you to to a different place to get to the HTML code view. Additional custom button types are available only in the V2 editor. I would like to be able to add a button to open the KC bot from a What’s new announcement (slider or dialog) that announces new or updated self-help content in the KC bot.
I propose adding PX Product Mapper Feature Labels to the data that comes over to CS from PX. Currently, to have a report that shows users of a certain class/type of feature and their MRR, or any other customer information that is only tracked in CS, we have to pull a report from each platform (CS and PX) and merge the data OR filter by every feature that would fit that qualification, which could be 30+ features depending on what we’re looking for. It would simplify our process to be able to access the Feature labels directly in CS.
For easier reporting, we have flattened the Company level scorecard to the company object and use picklist fields for the scores (this makes filtering easier for end users as well).Because scores are associated with a particular color, our users would like to see that color along with the score label itself. This information is available, given that each value in a picklist has a color associated with it, however, outside of reporting, we don’t have access to display that color. Here is an example use case of where this would be helpful: On the C360 we have a Field widget that shows a Scorecard Measure Label. We would like to have the option display both the label AND the picklist color: I’m sure there are other handy applications besides this (on a dashboard, Home somewhere?) but this is an example of how we would like to be able to use it.
As an admin we need to be able to close CTAs for data cleanliness. Example, an account Churns and we want to make sure that all open CTAs are closed out to Closed Lost. When the Close CTA rule include in identifiers is selected - the Status is not selectable even though the hover over help does not indicate that Status should be excluded. The default close CTA status is Closed Won, which is not true for the example provided as we would select Closed Lost. Not sure why we could not allow Call To Action Status All Defaults are not selectable options .Note it is not an option that is denoted in the hover over help as non-selectable when ‘Include in identifiers’ is selected.I could foresee potential issue with CTA Type specific statuses - All statuses should be available to be selected. This is similar to this post from years ago: Who agrees that admins should be able to properly status closed CTAs via Bionic Rules when designating CTAs by IDs?
CTA Type field has a limited character count that is too low. We call our EBR something unique for our organization, and the character count isn’t enough to allow me to set this as a type.
Hi there!I’m working on rationalizing our contact database and progressively but drastically reducing issues with data quality. Looking at resolution keys, we can only have AND conditions. Considering we create contacts both in Gainsight and SFDC, and have a need to sync back and forth, it would be useful to introduce the concept of IF THEN or priority on resolution keys instead of simply being able to implement them with AND conditions. What I mean:People Resolution KeyFirst look for: SFDC External Contact IDIf absent look for: EmailIf absent look for: … And so on, with priority on these resolution keys. This should however not prevent us from using the AND condition where needed. This would enable us to be smarter with contact updates than by using email as a resolution key, since switching to External Contact ID (or other custom field) would result in issues when it would come to writing back to SFDC for contacts created in GS (without complementary rules that is).
In the layout, you can input the company but you cannot lookup to any fields on the company. IE once the Goal is created, we would want to redisplay some account fields like ARR or sentiment. This is an issue with Timeline layout creations for us as well - we should be able to create lookups
When you create a new Dropdown field in Data management, you can select from your list of dropdown lists you’ve already made (or create a new one). This is great, but you might not remember the correct name, or maybe you have several similar ones. Or maybe you just don’t have them all memorized. It would be great, if when you’re deciding the dropdown category to select, you get a preview of the values in that list: This would be helpful when validating your selection before committing to creating the field.
Post on behalf of a Customer. It is found that after creating a CTA or Success Plan via a rule. If you wanted to edit the Custom Fields in bulk, you won’t be able to do so via a rule. In cases where bulk update is needed after creation of custom fields or changes in business logic, having a end user facing dataloader would help or being able to update custom fields in rules for NXT. There is the cockpit API, but it would look to need help from a developer if end user is not versed in using it.
Why was the ability to create a “CTA once in a [Lifetime]” removed from Horizon Rules? Now we can only choose number of days
The request is basically the title. As an admin, we can toggle rules to inactive without deleting them. It would be great to have that ability at the Rule Action level. Use Case: If you have a multi-action rule and you want to run a single action from that rule either due to a partial rule failure, troubleshooting or to make an update without running every other action, you would have to delete the other actions. Even if you are able to set up filters so that your other actions don’t do anything, you’re still taking up processing time at the Rule Action level, and would need to reverse that later. If you simply clone a rule to run the action, you’d still need to delete the other actions, and that may not be the route you want to go anyways. Having an action-level toggle would make troubleshooting and managing rule actions so much easier. Thanks!
