Discuss Gainsight Products

IntroductionThis is my first tutorial on using Gainsight Community. I had to build something which could be automated to index our blogs in the Community Federated Search. Since I didn’t have a great deal of budget to use on this, I decided to use Google Apps Scripts to do it. Since I found it a little difficult to find tutorials or demos on this kind of thing with Gainsight’s APIs, I thought I would share this so that others can benefit. In this tutorial, we will create a Google Script to scrape blog content from a website and update the Gainsight Community federated search index. This process involves fetching blog URLs, extracting content, and sending it to Gainsight's federated search API. I’ll break down the entire process step-by-step, ensuring that it's as easy to follow as possible. I would LOVE to see any enhancement suggestions as well 😉 Step 1: Creating a Google Script Go to Google Apps Script: Open your web browser and navigate to Google Apps Script. Create a New Project:

Hi, we are currently use SSO (both SAML and openid connect) for 2 types of end-users.Is it also possible to configure SSO to point to our IDP for the admin/backend/control users?

Is there any plans for mix panel connector to allow you to choose/filter events that you bring in from projects?

Anyone know where to locate the Northpass help center?  When I click the link to “Help Center” here: https://academy.northpass.com/app/homepage , it sends me here: https://support.gainsight.com/knowledge which just says "Page Not Found”

Pulse 2024 in St. Louis is in the books—and what an experience! The first dedicated track to Customer Education sparked a ton of lively discussions and thought-provoking questions from the audience. Here are some of the most popular/common questions—and my answers: Couldn’t make it or want to relive every CE session? Check out the Pulse Library. 1. How can a Help Center and Knowledge Base complement an educational academy? Think of your Help Center and Knowledge Base as the go-to spots for quick help and deep dives outside formal training. They're great for reinforcing learning and answering those middle-of-the-night "how do I..." questions. You can also build upon your help center content by including thought leadership angles and use cases that add extra value. Meanwhile, direct users to your academy for detailed courses and learning paths when more structured, in-depth learning is needed. 2. How should training be tailored for users of a complex, niche product with various configura

Is anyone using ReferenceView and/or integrated Gainsight with this tool?

Determining the ideal login and visibility of your academy is important, and to do so, two settings in Gainsight CE need to work together: choosing between public and non-public settings and understanding the various authentication methods available. Let's dive into how these settings and methods interact:  Authentication Methods Gainsight CE supports 3 different authentication/learner login methods; below is the TLDR. For a more detailed outline, here is our Help Center’s Overview of Authentication Methods Pre-Registration Authentication:Learners create an email and password-protected account. Suitable for both public and non-public academies. Single Sign-On (SSO): Learners use a single set of login credentials to access multiple applications. Hi, Community.Does anybody have experience in making it easier to navigate across different dashboards? The current tiny alphabetized dropdown seems far from good enough for me as soon as people have access to more than 10 dashboards. (even with a “Favorite” feature now giving it some saving grace).I’m thinking that a separate dashboard hosting categorized hyperlinks to each dashboard might do the trick, but I’m curious if anyone has other good practices they’ve implemented.I really want users to have a clear bird’s eye view of the situation of what kind of Dashboards do they have available for them so they can easily make the call which Dashboard should be used at what time, what Dashboards are new, etc.

If I want to analyze* certain topic and it´s posts, one option would be if I export topic and it´s posts to the excel. But it seems it isnt possible? Is there any workarounds for this kind of usecase?*= tone, pick up ideas/feedbacks etc.

Hi there! I have a quick question regarding badges. I went to control > gamification > ranks and added a leaf icon for our employee badges then clicked rebuild but employee badges are not showing on the front end of the community. Am I missing anything?

What happens to images which are uploaded and then deleted? I just uploaded an image with a demonstration of a process and forgot to fully check it for personal data. I realised as soon as I had posted it, so edited the post, removed it and added an edited version of the image. But I am concerned about the image potentially still being on your servers.

When we start setting up engagements, audience rules plays a major role in making your engagement a success. We often hear new users trying to setup engagements and not sure if they are targeting the right audience. We have launched Preview audience to make sure you know whom you are targeting, but still need help, here are some examples and use cases. This post is around taking advantage of default attributes by PX, you can always take advantage of custom attributes to segment customers more easily.Lengthy post coming through! Audience logic examples and use cases:Excluding certain users from the engagement audience. You can achieve this by either using user email not-contains xyz.com, or account name not-contains xyz Example cases - * Email “not contains” @gainsight.com - Remove gainsight users using email* Account name “not contains” Gainsight - Remove Gainsight using the account name* While testing an engagement, you can add email is your email in audience logic so only you can see

There are so many opportunities when using CC and CS together, many of which I’ve documented in my previous articles. If you want to take your integration strategy to the next level, check out the additional use cases I’ve documented below. Some of these use long-standing features and some highlight brand new functionality! Post to Slack from JOJourney Orchestrator now has the option to post to Slack as an action. Documentation on this feature can be found here. In some cases a Slack message may be more effective than an email or a CTA if the target audience spends much of their time in Slack. Having the notification in Slack also allows it to be easily shared to another channel or in a private message.Ideas of ways to use this feature with CC+CS:Send a message when a Product Idea from a high-touch client hasn’t had a response by an employee in 14 days.  We held our 2nd ever Gainsight CE Office Hours on Discovering the Basics of Analytics! If you weren’t able to join, here are the key takeaways and the recording below: Key Takeaways: How do Analytics differ from Enrollments data?: Enrollments data are a quick glance of data in close to real time including learner name, their enrollment date, and course or learning path completion percentage.  Analytics are more granular analysis of more specific data in your program.   Common Definitions:  Enrollments: date learner enrolled in a course or LP via individual or group assignment or when a learner self enrolls themself.  Active Learner: A learner who started a course, does not include learners who sign into Academy and browse, but never start a course.  Attempts: Learner attempts are tracked every time a new version of the course is published, or you retake a course, an admin restarts your course progress.  Course Version: A course version is updated every time you publish new changes

We have assigned a rank icon to a group of users. It looks great in their profile. However, in the leaderboard, those who have this icon, their profile images are not rendering properly.  Any thoughts on why this is happening?

Hi there! I’m launching a new community next month and my team is not ready for the ideas feature yet. Is there a way to turn it off for the time being? Or at least hide the idea section when you click create topic?

Hello!I just discovered this:I duplicated an event (the new feature) in Control. (First, I couldn’t find the duplicate/draft, because draft events are on the bottom/in last page of the entire list in the event overview😅)After I published the duplicated (and slightly updated) event, it was still marked as draft in Control.I double checked and hit “publish now” several times. The event was already displayed in the upcoming events tab in the community, but the status was still “draft” in Control. Only after a while, the status was “published”.→ how long does it take to change the status in Control?  Then, I wanted to add this event to the featured topic widget on the home page, as usual. But it cannot be found. I checked several times. Even if I paste the entire correct name, I cannot add the event to this widget:→ is there a solution to this? Does it take a while, too?  Thanks!

Expected workflow: When the learners clicks “Webinars” then they will see “list of events” available for them. Next to each event there is a “view button”. When learner clicks “View” button then they are redirected to the respective training calendar embedded in the section.

Use Case - My team defines CSM sentiment to 4 score measures - 10, 25, 75, and 90 and we define what these scores mean in regards to the scoring engagement methodology.  Where we are struggling with this measure is a CSM has the ability to slide the score and select other scores outside of our defined 4 and even pick a “50” which means they haven’t defined the relationship as either positive or negative…. i.e. on the fence. I’m looking for a way to limit our system to only our 4 scores to force scoring on our measures only.  Does anyone know if this is possible or is there an idea already submitted to make this change?

Hello!  Looking for another Gainsight CC customer who may be using the platform in a similar way. We have customer segmented pages - customers can only communicate within their own customer segmentation. We are also building micro communities where customers can interact with other customers based on common attributes. For example: Certification or enablement cohorts, user role types, etc. I am interested in connecting with someone who may be doing something similar to learn some of their best practices. Some thoughts:What are best practices for your moderators? We will have multiple moderators across different areas of the business managing different micro sites / gated communities. Without being able to restrict their access to see others areas in the control panel - what’s working well for you? How are you managing scaling the different customer segmented pages? We are using custom css / html and have concerns for scaling Let me know if this sounds like something you are doing!Thank

Hello!  We are working on building out a CS Mgmt and CSM handbook/playbook that outlines our expectations on a daily, weekly, monthly basis as well as includes some best practices and what "good" looks like.  Do any of you have anything like this or any ideas that should be included?
